Unveiling the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO: A Teaser for Ram’s High Output Truck

Ram trucks enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of the highly anticipated replacement for the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX. Finally, a teaser video has been released, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come with the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, also known as the Ram High Output. Scheduled to hit the market in the third quarter of this year, the RHO promises to bring some exciting updates to Ram’s light-duty truck lineup.

The video opens with a captivating shot of a Ram 2500 Rebel attached to a utility trailer, with a mysterious pickup truck hidden under a camouflage tarp on the car hauler. A voice in the background softly whispers, “I hear the storm is coming.” The message is clear – something big is on its way. The video concludes with the announcement that we should mark our calendars for April 25th, as this is a delivery we don’t want to miss.

One major change in the upcoming RHO is its engine configuration. While the TRX boasted a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine, the RHO will feature a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six powertrain. Although it may seem like a downgrade in terms of power, with the new engine expected to produce at least 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque, there’s no doubt that the RHO will still pack a punch. In fact, if Ram follows in the footsteps of the 2025 Dodge Charger Scat Pack, which boasts similar figures, we can expect the RHO to deliver at least 550 horsepower.

This shift in engine choice is also the reason behind the rebranding of the truck. Ram’s CEO, Tim Kuniskis, has clearly stated that there won’t be another TRX until they can access mechanical components capable of matching or surpassing the Hellcat’s performance numbers. However, he assures us that the RHO will inherit some of the TRX’s exceptional equipment. This claim has been substantiated by spy videos captured late last year, showing a prototype RHO with aggressive fender flares and chunky tires. The teaser video further hints at a roll bar in the bed and a high ride height, suggesting a truck ready to take on any terrain with ease.

When it comes to the positioning of the RHO in the highly competitive supertruck market, it appears that Ram intends to fill the gap between the Ford Raptor and its upcoming high-performance variant, the Raptor R. As for pricing, Ram has made it clear that the RHO won’t have a sticker price as hefty as the TRX, which had a starting price of $97,485 for its final model year. This strategy is likely aimed at attracting buyers who want a powerful truck without breaking the bank.

Excitement continues to build as we wait for the official unveiling of the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO in just ten days. With its potent engine, rugged design, and expected improvements in frame and suspension, the RHO is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive world of supertrucks. If the teaser video is any indication, Ram enthusiasts are in for a thrilling ride with this new addition to the Ram truck family.
