Volkswagen Opens Orders for New ID 7 Tourer Electric Estate: Pricing, Features, and Release Date

Volkswagen Introduces the New ID 7 Tourer to Broaden its Electric Vehicle Lineup

Volkswagen is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the introduction of the new ID 7 Tourer. Priced from £52,240, the ID 7 Tourer is positioned as an electric estate that aims to appeal to executive car buyers. With its sleek design and advanced features, Volkswagen aims to solidify its position in the competitive EV market.

The ID 7 Tourer comes with a range of standard equipment, including LED headlights, roof rails, 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, a reversing camera, and a 15-inch touchscreen with sat-nav. These features enhance the comfort and convenience of the vehicle, making it an attractive option for buyers.

Volkswagen has also confirmed that two more variants of the ID 7 Tourer will be available in the summer. The ID Tourer Pro S will feature a larger 86kWh battery with an impressive range of 425 miles. Additionally, the performance-oriented ID 7 GTX will offer a thrilling driving experience with its four-wheel-drive capability.

In terms of dimensions, the ID 7 Tourer is slightly shorter, wider, and taller than its combustion-engined equivalent, the Volkswagen Passat. It offers a generous 545-litre boot space, which can be expanded to 1714 litres with the back seats folded down. This gives it an advantage over competitors like the Peugeot e-308 SW and MG 5 SW EV estates.

The Tourer’s design is aerodynamically optimized, with a drag coefficient of just 0.24Cd. Its long and sleek silhouette adds to the vehicle’s appeal, while also improving its efficiency and range.

The ID 7 Tourer is available in two trims: the Tourer Pro and the Tourer Pro S. The Pro comes with a 77kWh battery, capable of fast charging at speeds of up to 175kW. The Pro S, on the other hand, features an 86kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of 426 miles, which is just nine miles shorter than the saloon version. It also has a faster charging capability of 200kW.

Both versions of the ID 7 Tourer are equipped with Volkswagen’s latest APP550 electric motor, which delivers 282bhp and 402 lb ft of torque. This powertrain configuration enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in under 7.0 seconds, providing a thrilling driving experience.

Inside the Tourer, Volkswagen has incorporated its latest touchscreen system, which has been updated to improve usability, graphics, and processing times. The vehicle also features Volkswagen’s new IDA voice assistant system, which uses artificial intelligence to provide more natural and human-like interactions with the driver.

Optional features for the ID 7 Tourer include an electronically controlled panoramic roof, massage seats, and a new Wellness app that adjusts the lighting, stereo, and climate control to create a calm and relaxing environment.

In conclusion, the introduction of the Volkswagen ID 7 Tourer expands the brand’s EV lineup and aims to attract executive car buyers. With its sleek design, advanced features, and impressive range, the ID 7 Tourer is a strong competitor in the electric estate market. Volkswagen’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is evident in the vehicle’s design and technology offerings. Overall, the ID 7 Tourer represents a significant step forward for Volkswagen in its journey towards a sustainable and electric future.
