“Witchfire: RPG Shooter Announces Steam Early Access in 2024 with Exciting Updates”

The Astronauts, a game studio known for their work on Painkiller and Bulletstorm, recently announced that their RPG shooter Witchfire will be coming to Steam early access in 2024. This news has excited gamers who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Witchfire.

Currently, Witchfire is available on the Epic Games Store, where it recently received a major update called The Wailing Tower. This update introduces a new map, enemies, loot, gear, and features to the game, adding elements of cosmic horror. Players can also expect new power-ups and the ability to call upon the souls of fallen foes to aid them in their battles.

In addition to these gameplay updates, Witchfire now features music tracks from renowned composers Marcin Przybyłowicz, P.T. Adamczyk, and Paweł Błaszczak. These composers have worked on popular games like The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, Gwent, and Dead Island, among others.

Witchfire is a single-player, dark fantasy RPG FPS that puts players in the role of a wicked sinner turned witch hunter. The game offers a unique blend of souls-like, extraction, and roguelite gameplay, providing a challenging but satisfying experience. Players must utilize their skills and knowledge to defeat the Witch of the Black Sea and her witchfire-fueled army. If they die, they have one chance to return and retrieve what they lost or try a different approach.

The game takes players on an expedition through immersive biomes, allowing them to select their battleground and strengthen themselves through the roguelite system called Arcana. There are countless ways to build their character, called a Preyer, and dominate the Witch. Players can choose to extract their looted items or confront the Witch’s Familiar for even more powerful rewards.

It’s worth noting that Witchfire initially launched in early access on the Epic Games Store in September 2023. The Astronauts expressed their gratitude to the early adopters for their feedback and assistance in shaping the game.

The Astronauts, founded in 2012 by three veterans who worked on Painkiller and Bulletstorm, is a fully independent game developer based in Warsaw, Poland. With a team of around 20 veteran developers, they are dedicated to creating unique and immersive gaming experiences.

Overall, the announcement of Witchfire’s upcoming release on Steam early access has generated a lot of excitement among gamers. With its compelling gameplay, challenging mechanics, and immersive world, Witchfire promises to be a must-play title for fans of dark fantasy RPGs.
