YouTuber Arrested for Shooting Fireworks at Lamborghini from Helicopter

YouTubers are known for going to great lengths to create shocking and attention-grabbing content in order to gain views and followers. However, these stunts sometimes cross the line of legality, as popular content creator and social media personality, Alex Choi, recently discovered. Choi was arrested for a video he posted last year, in which people in a helicopter shot fireworks at a Lamborghini.

The charges against Choi are serious, as he is accused of causing the placement of an explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft. This offense carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison. The charges stem from Choi’s alleged lack of a permit to film and carry fireworks in a helicopter. His first court appearance took place recently, and it will be interesting to see how his defense approaches the case.

In the now-deleted video, Choi can be seen driving the Lamborghini while two women in the helicopter shoot fireworks at the car. He even claimed to have coordinated the shoot and was listed as a director in the credits, making it difficult for him to deny his involvement. While there is no information regarding charges for the others involved in the video, it is worth noting that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has already revoked the helicopter pilot’s license as a result of the stunt.

This is not the first time Choi has found himself in hot water due to his auto-related stunts. In 2022, he organized a Tesla meetup that ended in disaster when a person attempted to jump a Model S. Not only did Choi film the stunt and upload it to YouTube, but the driver also ended up crashing into a parked car. To make matters worse, there were allegedly passengers and even a stray cat in the Tesla at the time. These actions reflect a pattern of disregard for safety and responsible behavior.

Despite the legal troubles he now faces, Choi has gained quite a following within tuner circles. He has participated in various social media drag races and other events, showcasing his love for high-performance vehicles. One notable example is when he raced a 1,000-horsepower Lamborghini Huracán against an 800-horsepower Dodge Polara on Hoonigan’s YouTube channel a couple of years ago. His willingness to push the boundaries and engage in daring stunts with expensive cars has contributed to his popularity online.

However, with the recent arrest and potential legal consequences, Choi may need to reconsider his approach to content creation. The incident involving the helicopter and fireworks is undoubtedly a wake-up call that raises questions about the ethical and legal boundaries of content creation. It is crucial for YouTubers to prioritize safety and responsible behavior while still delivering exciting and entertaining content to their viewers. Hopefully, this incident serves as a reminder for creators like Choi to think twice before putting themselves and others at risk for the sake of views and likes.
