Lionel Messi, 32, has been named the best footballer of 2019. Hailing from Argentina and associated with FC Barcelona, Messi scored 40 goals and assisted 17 and even led Barcelona to the 2018/19 La Liga title and also to the top of the league this term.

Messi has maintained his performance for almost a decade and a half and is still energetic among the new entrants. Messi continues to outperform his competitors in the field among which Cristiano Ronaldo closely follows.

Best Boxer in 2019

Saul Canelo Alvarez with 53 wins is declared the best boxer of 2019. Playing for super middleweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight, Canelo hails from Mexico.

He has only one official loss on his record since 2013, a 2013 defeat to Floyd Mayweather when he was a lightweight champion at the age of 23. In the year since, Canelo has beaten Miguel Catto, Daniel Jacobs, and Sergey Kovalev and holds up a disputed two-fight rivalry win over Gennady Golovkin.

Best Tennis Player of 2019

Novak Djokovic, a Serbian player, is not only the tennis player of 2019 but also the player of the decade. His five-hour agonizing win against Roger Federer in Wimbledon last year marked his fifth Wimbledon win.

He has been referred to as the best returners ever. In the past decade, Djokovic worked hard to increase his stamina, mastering a grueling fitness regimen. Djokovic asserted that his last Wimbledon encounter was more mental than a physical challenge. With his victory, Djokovic cemented the idea that he is the greatest player of the generation.
