Over the past few years, Pakistan’s automobile sector has witnessed an eruption of choices. This is because previously Pakistanis were stuck with three Japanese brands namely Suzuki, Toyota, and Honda, who ruled the industry with exorbitant prices and largely low-quality products.
The change is welcomed, so let us see what models of cars would be launching in Pakistan by the end of the current calendar year, 2021.
It must be mentioned that Hyundai Elantra and Proton Saga have already been launched.
KIA Cerato:
The South Korean car manufacturer is not new in Pakistan as it has already built its reputation in the market after successfully launching Sportage, Grand Carnival, and Picanto.
Now the brand is all set to bring its highly popular KIA Cerato to the Pakistan market. In November last year, the sedan was spotted in Karachi.

Pakwheels has suggested that the new sedan will hit the market in August 2021. As per KIA Pakistan, the new sedan will have a 1600cc engine, with 6-Speed Auto/Manual transmission. The engine gives an output of 124hp and 154Nm torque.
According to Pakwheels, the car will come with Automatic Front Headlights, Tilt and Telescopic Steering Column, Rear Trunk Light, and Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control. The company has also installed Rear Seat Heat Ducts, an 8-inch touchscreen Infotainment System, Steering Wheel-Mounted Volume Controls, and Cruise Controls, along with forward Collision-Avoidance.
The price of the car is still under the rug.
Honda City 7th Generation
Honda Atlas is all set to compete with market-accepted Toyota Yaris with the launch of its 7th generation City in Pakistan. the company will release 7th generation City in Pakistan, which will be a direct competition to the recently launched Yaris. They further said that the company would release the new City in the first quarter of 2021.
However, now the car is expected to launch in August with an estimated price of PKR 3,000,000.
According to Pakwheels, the car for India came with a 1500cc engine, mated with 7-Speed CVT and 6-Speed Manual Transmission, assuming we get the same model.
In Thailand, this model was launched with a 3-cylinder 1000cc Turbo-Charged engine, which produces 122hp at 5500RPM and 173NM torque at 2000-4500RPM.
BAIC BJ40 Plus:
The Jeep-cum-SUV, BJ40 Plus, would be another exciting addition to the market. Although there are no confirmed reports about its launch as yet, we are hoping that Pakistan will get it in 2021.
The Rs6 million car has a 2000cc engine that produces an output of 215 horsepower and 270 Newtonmeter torque.
It is expected to launch in May 2021 according to the Pakwheels website.

BAIC D20
Sazgar Engineering Works has acquired the Greenfield investment status. According to company officials, the D20 hatchback will be offered with 1.3L & 1.5L engines with 5-speed-manual as well as 4-speed automatic transmission options. Packed will safety features like ABS + EBD ISO FIX Immobilizer Airbags Electronic throttle Headlights on warning system Fog lights & some convenience features, the car will reportedly be priced around Suzuki Cultus.
The hatchback will feature a 1300cc engine with an output of 100hp and 128Nm torque.
The price of the car is expected to be Rs21 lac and is expected to launch in July.
Suzuki Swift 4th Generation
Pak Suzuki is bringing the 4th generation of Swift to Pakistan. Reportedly, the variant most likely to make it into Pakistan will be the 1.2Litre petrol one. The vehicle will have a beautiful interior with quite a lot of gadgets and gizmos. Additionally, the price of the vehicle is expected to be Rs.23 – Rs.25 Lac.

Pakwheels speculates the launch date of the car in Pakistan between 2021 end and early 2022. The sad part is that 4th gen is due to be discontinued in the world and launched in Pakistan.
MG 3
MG Pakistan’s CEO Javed Afridi has time and again teased the arrival of MG 3 hatchback. The car is available in the international market in its 2nd generation. Javed Afridi, the owner of MG Pakistan, has teased the launch of MG 3 in Pakistan with a price tag of less than 2 million rupees. If the actual price remains as said, the car would be the cheapest hatchback in the market.
The car will offer a 1498cc engine with both 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The car will produce an output of 110hp and 150Nm torque.
The car is expected to launch in Pakistan in May 2021.
It must be noted that these are some of the most talked-about cars and not the exhaustive list of cars available in the market. Many more car manufacturers like Volkswagen have announced entry in the Pakistani market by 2022. However, many new options are available to the consumers compared to some years ago.
