Tickets sold out for Pak vs India T20 match!

After the ICC announced that tickets are on sale, thousands of fans flocked to the website to book their seats. As a result, the tickets were sold out within few hours. Fans who were unable to purchase the tickets expressed their disappointment on social media.

As per the Platinumlist website, tickets for the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan sold out within hours. Seats in all sections are now unavailable.

After the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that tickets are on sale, thousands of fans flocked to the website to book their seats. As a result, the tickets were sold out within few hours.

On Sunday night, Premium and Platinum tickets were available for Dh1,500 and Dh2,600, respectively, for groups of two. However, as of Monday morning, both have become unavailable on Platinumlist.

Moreover, many fans were placed in an online queue with tens of thousands of users ahead of them. The estimated wait time was more than an hour.

Since the tickets sold out, several fans took to social media to ask if anyone was willing to sell their ticket.

The match is set to take place on October 24th at the Dubai International Stadium. As per ICC, all venues will operate at 70 percent capacity owing to the pandemic.

“In the UAE all venues will operate at approximately 70% of maximum seated capacity, whilst Abu Dhabi also introduced new socially distanced ‘pods’ of a maximum of 4 spectators on their east and west grass mounds,” it said.

Pak vs India: A historic cricket rivalry?

Tickets selling out left many fans disappointed as they were excited to watch the match between Pakistan and India. The two countries historically share a hostile relationship and a cricket match between them is intriguing to fans as it is another arena for competition.

Players from both teams routinely face intense pressure to win. Moreover, extremist fans also threaten players after a cricket defeat.

On the other hand, Pak vs India matches offer opportunities for cricket diplomacy as a means to improve diplomatic relations.

The two sides played a total of 199 times. Pakistan won 86 matches compared to India’s 70 victories. However, India has a better record in ICC tournaments. Pakistan is yet to win a match against India in T20 World Cup.
