Pakistan’s automobile market has seen rapid diversification and expansion in the last few years with the entry of numerous Chinese, British and European auto manufacturers. Previously, customers had to settle for less as the market was dominated by the three Japanese giants, Toyota, Honda and Suzuki. This discouraged competition and offered less variety of automobiles to consumers.
With the launch of companies like DFSK, Haval, Changan and MG, the market has seen a positive change as now customers get value for money and have more options to choose from – especially in the SUV category.
Haval Jolion
The Great Wall Motors in partnership with Sazgar Engineering Works limited has launched Haval Jolion SUV in Pakistan. Currently there are completely built units (CBUs) coming in from China – and the local dealership has already started accepting bookings for its futuristic vehicle.
The vehicle has a 1.5L turbocharged engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Jolion has an adaptive cruise control, a traction control and a paddle shift. It comes with four driving modes, seventeen inches alloy wheels and automatic headlights. If we look at the interior we find fabric seats, a large infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree panoramic camera (features vary with trim level).

Although there are currently five versions of Haval Jolio being offered in China, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has only decided to import the higher trim levels for Pakistani consumers.
The CBU of Haval Jolion costs 5,525,000 PKR in Pakistan.
Haval H6
Haval H6 comes powered with a 1.5L turbocharged engine (just like Jolion) and offers 147 horsepower and 230 Nm torque. However, it’s priced higher – at 6,295,000 PKR.
The compact SUV comes with a 7-speed DCT transmission and offers four driving modes, including Sport, Economy, Snow, and Standard. It has 18 inches alloy wheels.
On the safety side, Haval H6 has six airbags, electronic parking brake, anti-collision system, driver drowsiness detection, auto crash unlock and many more features to protect you and your loved ones!
H6 has Daytime running lamps, just like any other latest vehicle, LED headlights and fog lamps.

Changan Uni-T
Changan’s Uni-T comes powered by a 1500cc turbocharged engine and produces 180 horsepower and 298 NM torque. The 1.5 L engine is paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission.
The first look of the compact SUV gives away the impression of a very futuristic vehicle but it isn’t just cosmetic beauty – they vehicle actually boasts considerable highly advanced features like Artificial Intelligence (AI) for automated driving and a wide range of assistance features.
On the safety side, Changan appears to have extensively focused as it offers features like ABS + EBD, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, Hill Descent Control, Blind Spot Assist, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
As the vehicle is yet to launch, we have no confirmation of the price as yet. But rest assured, as soon as we have an update, we’ll share with our esteemed readers.

MG HS
MG motors or M.G Car Company was established by Cecil Kimber in the early ’90s in the UK. The company claimed popularity primarily in the sports car segment due to its astonishing releases. In the aftermath, the company erstwhile mostly known for its state-of-the-art sports cars, entered the saloon and coupés market. Its fans around the world still remember the company for its open two-seater sporty vehicles.
Firstly, let’s look under the hood. The HS is powered by a 1.5L GDI Turbo-charged engine paired with with a 7-speed automatic transmission. If you prefer manual, you can also opt for 6-speed manual transmission. The turbo-charged engine is able to produce around 160 horsepower (HP), which is quite impressive and 250NM torque.
MG HS comes with heated front seats made out of leather and is equipped with features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4-speaker/ 6-speaker audio systems, Bluetooth connectivity, Rear parking cameras and a large 10.1-inch infotainment system,
On the safety side we find Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Engine Immobilizer and Anti-Rolling Protection.

MG HS, after receiving a price hike recently, now costs 5,749,000 PKR. Initially the price stood at 5,449,000 PKR.
DFSK Glory 580
DFSK Glory 580 is a low-end SUV that comes in three variants: 1.5 CVT, 1.5 MT, and 1.8 CVT. It gives a stylish impression especially due to its sharp finish and the smart DRLs and chrome grille.
Glory 580 has a smart entry system, powered seats and a push start button. There is a vehicle information system showing outside temp, fuel average and range of the vehicle based on the fuel, a digital and analogue speedometer, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The SUV is priced in the range of 37.5 lakh to 45.5 lakh PKR.
