Movies show us another world. No wonder when we watch an intense movie we forget the world. Movies provide us the first-hand experience of the events which are most significant. Here is the list of war movies every Pakistani and war movie lover must watch.
Enemy at the Gates
Enemy at the Gates is based on the heroism of a Russian sniper who kills German soldiers at the famous Battle of Stalingrad. It helps us understand how can we face the challenges without anyone’s help. This movie has got some very smart and scenes which boost our intelligence.
This was the first war movie I had watched in my childhood. It made me fall in love with it. Thanks to my father, who loved war movies, I was able to watch such a masterpiece at the age of seven or eight. He used to tell us what was the background of the event – World War II.
Hacksaw Ridge
The movie is based on Desmond Doss: the Medal of Honor winner who never fired a shot. During one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific, Mr. Doss saves 75 lives. He vows to practice nonviolence and that is was the biggest takeaway of the true story.

One of my favorite quotes from this movie is, “Someday we might look back on this and decide that saving Private Ryan was the one decent thing we were able to pull out of this whole godawful, Sh**ty mess.”
Midway (2019)
The list of my favorite war movies cannot end so let me add this masterpiece before the list ends. The movie is based on the Battle of the Midway which changed the course of World War II. Its visuals show how Kamikaze pilots of Japan were passionate about their country.
