Tourism industry of Pakistan to generate $4 million in 2025

Pakistan’s Travel and Tourism Industry Projected to Reach $4 Billion in Revenue by 2025

Pakistan’s travel and tourism market is expected to generate $4 billion in revenue by 2025, cites Statista Travel and Tourism Pakistan report.

The industry is expected to grow at an annual rate of 6.75% from 2025 to 2029, potentially reaching a market volume of $5.53 billion by the end of the forecast period. This growth in the tourism sector is attributed to the large number of domestic and international tourists visiting the country.

The largest segment of this market is ‘package holidays’ which is expected to reach the volume of $1.92 billion by 2025. The number of users in this segment is predicted to climb to 22.17 million. These tour packages provide travel convenience to visitors with pre-arranged facilities and travel.

The improved law and order situation is also encouraging travellers and foreign visitors to visit Pakistan. Besides, the digital travel content produced by domestic and foreign travel influencers on the stunning landscapes, rich historic heritage, and vibrant culture tempt visitors to flock to Pakistan. The Gilgit Baltistan region is a major tourist site. With its mighty peaks, green meadows, and crystal-clear lakes, Gilgit Baltistan is experiencing an exponential rise in visitors.

Infrastructural development and enhanced international flight routes are further supporting the growth of Pakistan’s tourism industry.

A number of travel sites including Financial Times, BBC Travel and CNN Travel included Pakistan in its top travel destinations for 2025.

Pakistan was catapulted into the global spotlight as a premier travel destination, earning a coveted spot on the Financial Times’ prestigious list of “50 Destinations to Take in 2025.”

The Financial Times highlighted several factors contributing to Pakistan’s newfound appeal: an improved security situation, enhanced accessibility, and upgraded accommodation options. These developments have made the country more accessible to international travelers, who are increasingly exploring its hidden gems.
