Tragic Death of 22-Year-Old Motorcyclist Sparks Urgent Action Against Kite Flying in Punjab

A tragic incident in Faisalabad, Punjab, claimed the life of 22-year-old Asif Ashfque when a kite string slit his throat while he was riding a motorcycle. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, swiftly ordered the police to arrest the suspects responsible for making glass-coated strings.

Expressing profound sorrow over the incident, she gave a 48-hour ultimatum to the district administration and police for apprehending the culprits. This incident highlights the dangers posed by kite flying and underscores the need for stringent enforcement of regulations.

The Punjab government has already imposed a complete ban on kite flying and maintains a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.

Despite these measures, incidents of fatalities due to kite strings continue to occur, prompting authorities to take stricter action. CM Maryam Nawaz’s directive emphasizes the seriousness with which the government views such incidents and its commitment to ensuring public safety.

In addition to addressing the kite string incident, CM Maryam Nawaz also directed authorities to investigate and take strict action against those responsible. She condemned kite flying as a dangerous activity that endangers citizens’ lives and called for effective measures to combat the menace.

Furthermore, she expressed condolences over a separate tragic traffic accident in Gujranwala, highlighting the government’s multifaceted approach to addressing public safety concerns. These incidents underscore the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in maintaining public safety and enforcing regulations effectively.
