Tragic revelations in the death of Matthew Perry

The unsealed documents have left Perry’s friends and fans in shock, with many reflecting on the tragic circumstances of his death.

The death of beloved actor Matthew Perry has taken a darker turn, as newly unsealed court documents reveal disturbing details about the final days of the “Friends” star. The documents, obtained by various media outlets, implicate his live-in assistant, Kenny Iwamasa, and several others in a series of illegal activities that may have contributed to Perry’s tragic death in October 2023. The revelations paint a grim picture of addiction, exploitation, and a relentless pursuit of dangerous substances.

Dangerous Dependency

According to the court documents, Perry and Iwamasa reportedly spent a staggering $55,000 on 55 vials of ketamine and numerous injections within just 29 days. Text messages exchanged between Perry and Iwamasa show a harrowing pattern of nearly daily requests for more ketamine, with Iwamasa allegedly engaging in illegal drug transactions, sometimes in the early hours of the morning. The desperation for the drug was palpable, leading the two men to meet with a physician known as “Dr. P.” (real name: Salvador Plasencia) in parking lots to exchange cash for ketamine.

Role of Dr. P.

Dr. P. played a critical role in Perry’s ketamine use. The documents detail several occasions when he visited Perry’s home to administer injections, including one instance where Perry had already received a ketamine infusion earlier that day. This double administration reportedly caused Perry’s systolic blood pressure to spike to dangerous levels, rendering him unable to speak or move. The risky behavior did not end there; Dr. P. continued to supply Perry with the drug, even as the actor’s condition worsened.

Escalating Doses and a Tragic End

The situation escalated dramatically in the days leading up to Perry’s death. Iwamasa, who had already purchased 25 vials of ketamine for $6,000 just nine days after a previous illegal purchase of the same amount, allegedly injected Perry with six doses in one day. Over the next 42 hours, he administered at least 18 more injections. The timeline provided in the documents paints a picture of escalating doses, with Perry receiving at least three more injections on the day of his death.

The chilling details culminate in Perry’s alleged final words to Iwamasa: “Shoot me up with a big one.” After administering the final dose, Iwamasa left Perry to run errands, only to return to find him face down in his jacuzzi. The sequence of events raises questions about the extent to which Perry’s addiction was fueled by those around him, and whether his tragic fate could have been prevented.

Legal Repercussions and a Community in Mourning

The aftermath of Perry’s death has seen charges brought against several individuals, including Iwamasa, Dr. P., Jasveen Sangha (dubbed the “Ketamine Queen”), Dr. Mark Chavez, and Erik Fleming, a friend of Perry’s. Iwamasa has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death, and the other defendants are also facing serious charges related to their involvement in Perry’s drug use.

The unsealed documents have left Perry’s friends and fans in shock, with many reflecting on the tragic circumstances of his death. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada condemned the defendants, emphasizing their prioritization of profit over Perry’s well-being. The recent arrests have reignited painful emotions among Perry’s close circle, who lament the fact that he was surrounded by enablers rather than those who could have helped him.
