In his recent interview with Fox News, former US President Donald Trump voiced some serious opinions regarding Ashraf Ghani. Donald Trump called Afghanistan’s former President Ashraf Ghani “a total crook,” adding, “He got away with murder.”
While talking to anchorperson Sean Hannity, Trump said he never had any confidence in the government of President Ashraf Ghani. He also claimed that Ghani was in it for the money and to “wine and dine” foreign legislators.
That description is true, Trump claimed, following Ghani’s reported escape in which he took several vehicles and an untold amount of cash.

“I never liked him and based on his escape with cash, I don’t know, maybe that is a true story,” Donald Trump said. “I would suspect it is. Look at his lifestyle, study his houses where he lives,” he added, “He got away with murder.”
However, Donald Trump did not elaborate on how Ghani supposedly “got away with murder.”
According to speculations, Trump accused Ghani of murder due to the vast devastation and loss of life in Afghanistan.

Ashraf Ghani’s decision to leave Afghanistan sparked outrage. Many called him a traitor for leaving his people behind.
“The former president left Afghanistan, leaving the country in this difficult situation. God should hold him accountable,” said Abdullah Abdullah, the head of the Afghan National Reconciliation Council.
However, Ashraf Ghani denied all accusations of leaving his people behind. He posted on Facebook that he chose to leave the country to “prevent a flood of bloodshed.”

“It is a terrible time for our country. I don’t think in all of the years our country has ever been so humiliated. I don’t know what you call it – a military defeat or a psychological defeat, there has never been anything like what’s happened here,” Trump said.
