Talking to the reporters before flying to Pennsylvania to lead a rally, President of the United States Of America Donald Trump said that he is foreseeing tremendous success as far as his meeting with Kim Jong Un is concerned. Last Friday, to the surprise of entire world and even his own aides, he had announced to accept the meeting proposal of Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of North Korea. Revealing the agenda of this meeting he said, via tweet, that North Korea has agreed to denuclearize the Korean peninsula.
Today he once again reasserted the fact that the developments are going to be favorable for the collective good of entire world. The surprising announcement by the South Korean official was seen as a peculiar move as owing to the significance of this news, it should have been publicized by White House itself. However, later US president made contact with Japanese and Chinese head of states in this regard. “We have a lot of support from the world community”, referring to both China and Japan he said.
This made Iran even surrender almost all the stock pile of its low-enriched Uranium. For the politics to thrive, people need to be fed with bread first. Contrary to this, in North Korea, Kim Jong Un enjoys unchallenged sovereignty within the country.
He was optimistic with the declaration from North Korean side and assurance from China that North Korea will not be conducting any nuclear test till the meeting takes place. There has been talks all around the world and especially in America about this historic event which is expected to happen in May this year. But Pyongyang has continued to maintain the silence it is known for in such matters.
Where as in our previous analysis we had discussed in detail how the prospects of dialogue between USA and DPRK are currently in an infancy stage and commenting about the outcome is very difficult right now because of North Korea’s attitude in the past. The talks and even signed agreements have been failed by North Korea at least three times in last 3 decades. But about now it’s not just USA who is uncertain but the other side is skeptical as well. Because of President Trump, North Korea might as well be uncertain about the extent to which the current US administration can be trusted.

The reason is President Trump’s threats to revoke well-crafted deal with Iran about latter giving up its nuclear program during the previous administration of President Obama. There are striking technical contrasts in both the nuclear program but often they are described in the same connotation. The fact that North Korea actually possess nuclear devices, ranging from 20-60 as par different estimates, Iran had practically produced none.
While Iran allowed International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) agents to independently move around at their discretion throughout the country, North Korea has never allowed it to happen. Even in the times when agreements were signed off between the states. After the Stuxnet cyber-attack at Iran’s nuclear facility at Natanz which resulted in bursting out of hundreds of its centrifuges, analysts believed that had there been some other country, say North Korea, it may have imitated some serious retaliation.
The European powers Britain, France, and Germany, have been critical to Donald Trump’s uncalled for criticism toward Iran’s nuclear deal to which they are the party themselves alongside China and Russia.
But Iran decided to let that go and weighed the benefits of nuclear deal pulling its crippling economy out of the misery and found it in the best interest of country. In a way it was necessary for the system of government installed in the country to prevail since unemployment was sky rocketing due to economic sanctions.
This made Iran even surrender almost all the stock pile of its low-enriched Uranium. For the politics to thrive, people need to be fed with bread first. Contrary to this, in North Korea, Kim Jong Un enjoys unchallenged sovereignty within the country. For far too long, the isolated part of Korea has endured the suffering of economic sanctions. Economy is not going to be the only reason requisite enough for President Trump to bring down Kim Jong Un to surrendering the nuclear weapons he has gained.

The European powers Britain, France, and Germany, have been critical to Donald Trump’s uncalled for criticism toward Iran’s nuclear deal to which they are the party themselves alongside China and Russia. But the fact that the deal does not cover the ban on development of missile technology is what precisely bothers the Sunni Arab states. A deal which was in its essence negotiated to halt the nuclear stride of Iran, seem to lack repugnant steps requisite to stop it from interfering in regional affair. Something which Middle Eastern monarchies want and which indirectly makes Trump state the deal as “worst in the history”.
But revoking the already working arrangement which was the result of continuous and sturdy diplomatic efforts makes the Europeans worried. For USA it is its war economy which thrives on sales of state-of-the-art weapons at stake but for others it is the global security. Kim Jong Un must be closely watching how the fate of Iran’s nuclear deal is decided by President Trump. And in many ways, it will lead to the course which will be followed a couple of months from now.
