Twitter explodes as Pakistan makes smashing comeback against England

Twitter is brimming with excitement as the Pakistan Cricket Team made an unexpected yet welcoming comeback in the tournament after beating the host, England by 14 runs on Monday. Not only did Pakistan defeat England but also broke off its persistent losing streak. It has been the first ODI win for Pakistan after a consecutive defeat in 11 matches.

Pakistan’s smashing victory against the tournament’s favourites breathed hope and excitement into the lifeless supporters of the Pakistani team who were grossly grim after a humiliating defeat against West Indies in the first match.

Where Pakistan Cricket Team once again proved its unpredictability, the fans back home were elated and overjoyed, including Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza, wife of cricketer Shoaib Malik.

Prime Minister Imran Khan felicitated the national cricket team for coming back in form after a poor start in the warm-up matches and first pool match against West Indies.

DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor, also appreciated the Pakistan Cricket Team on a remarkable win against England.

Former skipper Wasim Akram, who seemed quite disappointed a few days ago, said that a win against England was the best birthday gift for him.

Shoaib Akhtar, who passed insolent remarks against skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and predicted the win against England, also appreciated the team for their all-around performance.

Even Sania Mirza couldn’t resist lauding the spectacular show put up by the Pakistan Cricket Team in the match.

Former Indian batsman, Virender Sehwag, noted that the match witnessed “volatility at its best”.

For Ali Khan Tareen, it was an “unbelievable” and “authentic Pakistan cricket” team.

Filmstar Shaan Shahid was also happy to see “Pakistan cricket at its best”.

Actor Feroze Khan prayed that the Pakistan team “come back home lifting the trophy”.
