Twitter has suspended the official account of Punjab chief minister’s spokesperson Shahbaz Gill. The reason of suspension is not known yet.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)’s official account has sought an explanation from Twitter and asked them to lift the suspension since Mr. Gil did not violate any rules or policies of Twitter.
No abusive tweets were ever posted by Mr. Gil’s account. Hence, either it is suspended by mistake or on the basis that its security is at risk; the account could be hacked.
“@Twitter – Dr. Shahbaz Gill – Official spokesperson of Chief Minister Punjab @UsmanAKBuzdar , his account has been suspended when there was NO violation of any Twitter policy or rules. Social media users are irked by the victimization of the media giant as they say Mr. Gil tweets never violated Twitter’s policies.
As per the Twitter’s policy, accounts can be suspended on the basis of abusive tweets/ behavior, account security at risk, and if the account is spam or fake. In the case of spam reports, Twitter says sometimes a real person’s account gets suspended by mistake, and their team works with the person to make sure the account is unsuspended.
