The two sessions are an annual event and are usually held in March every year when thousands of Chinese lawmakers participate in devising the future course of action in every dimension of China’s development and its people’s well-being. The event is called the “two sessions” because both the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) hold their annual meetings separately but at the same time. The CPPCC is an advisory body, and the 3,000-member NPC is the CCP’s legislative body – parliament. Its members include business executives, celebrities, celebrated individuals, etc.
Apart from discussions, there will be a dialogue on future progress and a series of policy measures. This year the event kicked off on March 4, when the fifth annual session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held. While on March 4, the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) opened its annual session. These important sessions will undertake a comprehensive review of overall government progress, governance-related matters, and national-level policy reports along with taking important decisions to finalize and implement the country’s national economy and development plans. These sessions will also examine and draft central and local budgets for 2022 at the national and local levels.

Understanding the matter better
This year is very special and expected to bring a far-reaching impact on China as well as on global politics. President Xi is expected to rise as the most powerful and strongest leader and reaffirm China’s pace of development and global contribution. Since the breakout of the Ukrainian crisis a year ago, geopolitics has been transformed into more volatile. The anti-China drive has been intensified, and gagging-up against China has grown rapidly. And during these two sessions, all aspects will be discussed and a comprehensive policy will be formulated to address all such challenges.
Decisions of these two sessions will be implemented and definitely have a visible impact on China internally as well as globally. Under the visionary leadership of President Xi, China has emerged as a global player and after these sessions, its global role may become stronger and more prominent. China is a sensible nation and understands its global obligations and after two sessions, China’s global role may be enhanced immensely.
The two sessions are a very important event for China’s political system and the world always keeps a close eye on them to understand the country’s course of action during the following year. It is well understood that what happens in China will have a wide-ranging impact on the entire global economy and worldwide development. If China prospers, the global economy will also follow a positive path, and if China develops, it will have a supportive impact on global developments, with China being a major contributor to the global economy and worldwide development. I myself am also very much focused on the two sessions as it helps me to keep up to date with China’s affairs.
As a window for the world to observe China’s development and progress, the two sessions are significant for promoting national unity and clarity in the overall vision and mission of the nation. Voices from all over China show that these sessions also have the effect of bolstering national enthusiasm. The outcomes of these sessions are significant as they impact China’s national-level development as well as the development of the wider world.
Like other areas, China has invested in high-tech and innovation and resultantly has achieved several milestones in many areas. It is believed that during the two sessions, there will be a greater focus on education, science, technology, research, and innovation. China recognizes the importance of these areas and possesses a huge capacity to produce desired results. It has the potential for major breakthroughs and the two sessions may provide the framework and requisite budget to prioritize advances in this respect.
China aims to achieve economic growth of around 5 percent this year. Experts say the target is realistic, and a resilient and strong Chinese economy will help drive global growth. It will be good news as the global economy is suffering and China may play a role in stabilizing and supporting it. China has the capacity to rescue the ailing economies of many nations.
Pakistan being the closest friend of China, congratulate China and wishes it a full success.
