In a shocking incident, two women were kidnapped, gangraped, and paraded naked in Naukot, Sindh. According to the news, the two women were kidnapped by more than 20 people belonging to the Tangri community.
The incident allegedly happened after a girl of the Tangri community left her home and married a boy of the Rajput community. Hence, the people of the Tangri community exacted the revenge. The women were rescued 20 hours after the PPP MPA Mir Tariq Talpur reached the area with the Police.
The rescued victims were brought to the Rural Health Center in Naukot for a medical check-up where the assault was confirmed on both the women.

The victims talked to the media and reported that the men took them to their area and subject them to assault. “We both were stripped naked, forced to parade naked, and then were raped by many tormentors for many hours during detention at an undisclosed location,” they added.
The family was held at gunpoint
Relatives of the victims staged demonstrations in the town. They claimed that the house of Muhammad Hanif Rajput was attacked, ransacked and then the notorious members of the Tangri community took away the women at gunpoint.
An FIR has been registered against the culprits by the husband of one of the women. According to the reports, PPP MPA exhorted pressure on DSP, SHO, and other officials to register FIR against them.

Parents of the victims lamented that had police acted on time, the women would have been saved from the heinous assault. They alleged that the criminals also took at gunpoint some gold, cash, and other valuables.
“Nobody feels safe from people of these gangs of Tangri people but the police of Naukot town have never bothered to take any action against them,” they added.
The incident has shocked social media users. A score of internet users rallied in favor of the women, demanding justice for them. Again, the heinous practice of assaulting women- the vulnerable, for revenge has been brought to discussion. There is a need to educate the masses and evolve the stereotypical concepts regarding how women should be treated besides implementing strict punishment for such criminals.
