Singer-turned-actor Umair Jaswal has announced to step away from the biopic on Shoaib Akhtar. Jaswal shared the development on his Instagram account on Wednesday night.
Umair Jaswal was set to play Shoaib Akhtar in the biopic ‘Rawalpindi Express. The actor in his message said that he is no longer associated with the project and hence will no longer respond to the queries related to the film. The actor has sighted some personal and creative reasons for stepping away from the movie.
“Due to creative and personal reasons, I have decided to step away from the Shoaib Akhtar biopic project RAWALPINDI EXPRESS. I will no longer be associated with any media or news related to this project,” he wrote in his message. “Wishing everyone involved all the best,” he added.
The biopic movie was expected to release this year; with the drop of Umair Jaswal, it seems that the release of the movie has been stalled for an indefinite period.
Back in November, Umair Jaswal had broken the news of playing Shoaib Akhtar in the movie. The actor had shared the news with pride with his fans and followers.
Jaswal shared the poster of the film on his Instagram account. In the caption, he said, “Superly excited to announce & share this with all of you. I’m honored to play the living legend, Mr. Shoaib Akthar on the big screen in RAWALPINDI EXPRESS.”
