Upset fan confront Shaheen Shah Afridi during India-Pakistan match

An upset Pakistani fan confronted Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi during a crucial ICC Champions Trophy match between India and Pakistan in UAE on Sunday, 23rd February.

Pakistan set the target of 241 runs for India, which they chased comfortably in 42nd second at the loss of four wickets.

India defeated Pakistan by six wickets and cruised to the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy. While Pakistan feared elimination, Pakistan had also lost its opening match New Zealand, and had to win against India to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

However, fans attending the match in the stadium were upset as India inched closer to victory.

One of the fans in the stands confronted Shaheen Shah Afridi who was standing on the boundary line in the field. The fan asked why the players are not playing good and humiliating them again and again.

“Shaheen Bhai, what is our fault? Why are you being cruel? Why are you humiliating us?, “ a cricket fan said in the viral video.

The video also captured the disappointment of other Pakistani fans. However, Shaheen Shah Afridi did not respond to the fans and kept his focus on the game.

Former cricketers and Pakistan cricket fans are slamming the team after their disappointing exit from the ICC Champions Trophy.

Pakistan lost their all-important group matches against New Zealand and India. New Zealand beat Pakistan by 60 runs last week in the opening match of the tournament at Karachi’s National Stadium on 19th February.

Following the defeat, Pakistan again got stuck in scenarios, heavily depending on Bangladesh to defeat New Zealand by a big margin.

However, New Zealand defeated Bangladesh in a group match, confirming the early elimination of Pakistan from the tournament it is hosting on its home soil.

Disgruntled fans and former cricketers are expressing dismay over the poor performance of the team in the tournament.
