US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar meets former prime minister Imran Khan in Bani Gala on her maiden visit to Pakistan.
Former Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari shared a picture of Ilhan Omar with Imran Khan on Wednesday. The two figures discussed Islamophobia and related issues. Imran Khan discussed initiatives taken by him against Islamophobia during his government. He also appreciated Ilhan Omar’s principled position on several matters concerning the Muslim community.

IK appreciated her courageous & principled position on issues,” wrote Shireen Mazari in a tweet.
Both the leaders have significantly raised their voices over the indiscrimination of Muslims and rising Islamophobia.

Ilhan Omar’s strong stance
Ilhan Omar is on her visit to Pakistan to meet the senior leadership of the country. She will also visit Azad Kashmir as well on her tour to Pakistan.
Ilhan Omar is a strong supporter of human rights and protests against Islamophobia. She has been critical of the ongoing onslaught of Indian armed forces in Kashmir. She had been against the Muslim ban enforced by the Trump administration.

Omar stated that “Trump’s Muslim ban is what Israel is implementing, this time against two duly elected Members of Congress. Denying entry into Israel not only limits our ability to learn from Israelis, but also the Palestinian territories.”
Former PM Imran Khan had raised his voice for the Muslims during his first maiden speech at the United National General Assembly session.
He has repeatedly denounced the atrocities on Palestinian Muslims and Muslims in India and IIOJK.
