Video of Sindh CM waiting in queue at Canada’s driving license center goes viral

The video showing Murad Ali Shah standing in the queue like a common man while enjoying VIP treatment in Pakistan has sparked strong criticism of the Sindh Chief Minister on social media.

An alleged video of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah standing in a queue at a driving license center in Canada has gone viral as netizens criticize the PPP leader.

The video shows Murad Ali Shah standing in a queue at Kitchener’s driving license center with his wife for her driving license. Seeing Murad Ali Shah standing in the queue like a common man while enjoying VIP treatment in Pakistan has sparked strong criticism for the Sindh Chief Minister on social media.

PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry criticized PPP leader Murad Ali Shah for allegedly making a “backup plan overseas”. The video comes amid the backdrop of Pakistan’s current economic situation which has deteriorated ever since the PDM took over governance.

“Everyone is making a backup plan overseas, apathy of people occupying top positions in the State of Pakistan is beyond limits. Shame,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

“After giving exemplary development to Sindh, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah decided to make his wife a driving license in a third-class country, Canada. If Sindh had been developed, then the feudal lord would not have stood like paupers at the counter. The license would have been sent to his home,” journalist Imran Afzal Raja said.

“But why did Murad Ali Shah, who is deciding the fate of Sindhis for a decade, need to get a driving license for his wife in Canada? Why do all thieves keep their ill-gotten money abroad while stealing the resources of poor Pakistanis?” journalist Mian Abrar said.

Last year, a video of PML-N senior vice president Maryam Nawaz and her son standing outside the US Embassy in London made the rounds on social media. The video gained immense traction on social media as netizens criticized the PML-N leader.

Pakistani politics heavily promotes VIP culture as politicians enjoy an incredibly lavish lifestyle which they are accused of achieving through corrupt practices. The politicians move with big fat convoys where staff and security men follow them around and even get special treatment at several public offices.

Therefore, seeing notable political figures in Western countries accepting being treated like the common man and abiding by the law, triggers sharp criticism for the double standards.
