Cricketer Waqar Younis says unknown hackers hacked and liked obscene videos from his Twitter account. Depressed from the recent event, the cricketer has announced he will delete his Twitter account. He offered his explanation of the controversy after social media backlash.
According to another news source, the hacker liked multiple obscene videos from his Twitter account. This incited a strong backlash on social media Waqar Younis. While many resorted to mock the legendary former Pakistani cricketer Waqar Younis.
Waqar Younis has decided to distance himself from social media after someone liked a porn video from his account. According to the cricketer, the alleged hackers liked the video and not him. However, he does not know who hacked his account. He released a video early morning in which he explained the entire incident.

Waqar Younis added that this is not the first time hackers have hacked his Twitter account. Waqar Younis released the video following a backlash on social media. Social media users lambasted the cricketer for liking an obscene video.

Waqar Younis is a Pakistani cricket coach, commentator, and former cricketer who captained Pakistan national cricket team. A right-arm fast bowler, Waqar is one of the greatest bowlers of all time. He is the current bowling coach of the Pakistani cricket team. Waqar Younis was one part of a great opening bowling duo alongside the great Wasim Akram. He picked up 373 wickets in 87 Tests and 416 wickets in 262 ODIs for Pakistan.

The cricketer expressed his angst and disappointment over the incident. He asserted that the recent social media faux pass brought him public embarrassment and shame. Distraught with the incident, he announced that he would quit social media.
“When I woke up this morning, I found out that someone had hacked my twitter account and liked an obscene and immoral video using my account. This is very shameful, disappointing and hurtful to me and my family,” Waqar said.

“So it is a matter of great shame, it is a matter of great regret and discomfort. For me and my family too. I used to think that social media or Twitter is a way of interacting with people. But unfortunately, this man ruined everything,” said Waqar Younis.
“By the way, the hacker has not done this for the first time. I have had an account hack three or four times.” He said he does not think he is going to stop, so he has decided to quit social media. “I love my family more. You will not see me on social media after today. I am sorry if this hurts anyone,” he added further.
Earlier hacking attempts on Waqar Younis’s social media accounts
Meanwhile, Waqar Younis rushed to, ‘unlike’ the video. But the Twitter users had already taken screenshots of the tweet. The screenshots circulated on social media even before Waqar Younis could fix the glitch.
In his video, the cricketer informed that his account has been hacked 2-3 times before as well. So, he suspected the same hacker has liked the obscene video from his account again. This hacker had liked a similar post two years ago from his account.

Waqar Younis added that since the hacker would continue to harass him, he deems quitting social media is the best solution to avoid public embarrassment in the future.

In his video message the cricketer did not explain if he would take any legal action against the hackers. He did not even mention why he did not take any legal action against hackers to save his social media accounts. His followers have questioned that despite several hacking attempts why the cricketer did not seek the help of cybercrime authorities to thwart future hacking attempts on his social media accounts.

However, Waqar Younis is not the first cricketer to experience an embarrassing situation like this. Last year, the hackers hacked the Instagram and Twitter accounts of Australian cricketer Shane Watson. The hackers then posted the illicit images of women on his Instagram account. Shane Watson apologized later for the incident.
He asserted that the hacker even posted racial slur and fat-shaming comments from his Twitter account. “My apologies to everyone for the illicit photos that have been posted on my Instagram account,” he tweeted.
