She was asked about former President Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani supporting the US drone strikes in Pakistan in private. When asked about this from Khar, she said she does not know as ‘she was not in the room’. Since then, her statement ‘not in the room’ has become one of the top trends on Twitter.

Some more clips from the interview has been going viral on social media in which the minister of state can be heard saying ‘I was not in the room’ in response to some tough questions asked by Al Jazeera host, Mehdi Hasan.
Netizens say she struggled to answer tough questions asked in the show from the audience and the host, and failed to defend Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on the matter of drone strikes in Pakistan. At one point in the interview, the host commented that if she was ever included in the matters concerning the foreign policy of Pakistan.
