WhatsApp, one of the world’s most popular messaging apps with over 2.4 billion active users, is continuing its push to integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) functionalities into its platform. The latest additions, currently available in beta versions, are set to revolutionize how users create and share content within the app.
AI-Generated Images
Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, has introduced a groundbreaking feature allowing users to create AI-generated images directly within their chat rooms. Dubbed “Imagine,” this feature is accessible in WhatsApp’s beta version 2.24.12.4 for Android devices. This functionality leverages Meta AI, a smart assistant developed by Meta, to generate these images.

To use the Imagine feature, users simply click on the attachment icon in the chat room. This opens up a range of options, including the Imagine feature, which is marked with a ring-shaped, gradient-colored icon. Once selected, users can quickly create AI images to share in their conversations. Although details on the user interface for this feature are still under wraps, it represents a significant step forward in making chats more visually engaging and dynamic.
AI Profile Photo Maker
In addition to the Imagine feature, WhatsApp has also launched an AI Profile Photo Maker in its beta update version 2.24.11.17. This tool allows users to generate unique AI-based profile pictures, giving them a distinctive and personalized appearance. This feature is especially useful for users who want to stand out with a profile photo that is both unique and created with cutting-edge technology.
AI-Powered Images in Chats
While the Imagine feature is already available to some beta users, WhatsApp is continuously working to refine and expand its AI capabilities. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is in the early stages of developing a feature that will allow users to create AI-powered images quickly and easily within their chats. This feature, simply referred to as AI-powered images, is not yet available to beta testers, indicating it is still under development. However, the integration of AI-generated images is expected to significantly enhance user interactions by providing more engaging visual content.
Channel Analytics
Beyond AI image generation, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature to provide users with comprehensive analytics for their channels. This upcoming feature, which will be available in a future update of WhatsApp Web, aims to help channel owners better understand their audience and optimize their content strategies.

The channel analytics feature will offer insights such as the number of unique viewers who have seen channel updates, excluding multiple views by the same users. It will also highlight the countries with the highest numbers of reached accounts, enabling channel owners to tailor their content to specific geographic audiences. Additionally, users will be able to see the net change in followers over the last 30 days, providing a clear picture of their channel’s growth or decline.
