‘Padmavati’ is facing an internal backlash in India from the Rajputana community. The members of the community have warned of burning cinema halls and multiplexes if the movie contains any romantic relationship between Queen Padmavati and Emperor Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
In a meeting with the management of several cinema halls and multiplexes, the chief of Jai Rajputana Community Bhanwar Singh Reta has demanded the pre-screening of the movie to Rajputana community before the official screening is made for the rest of the public.

“We won’t tolerate any distortion of history and if any romantic relationship is shown between queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji, we will burn cinema halls screening the film,” said Bhanwar Singh Reta, founder, Jai Rajputana Sangh on Sunday.
Similarly, the fierce and villainous depiction of one of the most powerful ruler from the Muslim origin, Sultan Alauddin Khilji in the movie is feared to hurt the pride Muslims take in this ruler.
“Our members are trained in handling a large array of weapons ranging from swords to AK 47 guns. We won’t let anyone dishonor Padmavati and insult the people of Rajasthan,”
“Our demand is that the filmmakers screen it to a panel of representatives from various Rajput organizations. We will only give them the go-ahead to release the film after we are satisfied that no scene insults queen Padmavati.”

However, much cannot be commented about the credibility of the story. But the movie trailer broke all records of popularity after being released on the internet. The first short glimpse of the movie bagged the highest views ever for any Hindu movie in a day.
Despite being challenged from a historical perspective, the trailer tells the movie is Bhansali’s another masterpiece.
