Wife of Australian batter, Travis Head, receives abusive comments and rape threats on social media after Australia won the ICC ODI Men’s World Cup 2023.
The disgruntled fans did not bar from even issuing rape threats to his wife on social media. Travis Head was instrumental in helping Australia win the ICC World Cup 2023. His magnificent knock of 163 runs cruised Australia to victory following a shaky start. Australia was finally able to beat India with six wickets.
Head was significant in giving a breakthrough to the Australian team when he caught the catch of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who scored 47 runs during the first innings.
The Indian trolls did not even spare his 1-year-old daughter in the comments and threatened to harm her.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has appealed to Indian fans to show respect and accept the results. “Reports of trolling of family members of Australian cricket players is completely in bad taste. We played well but lost the final to better cricket by the Aussies. That’s it. Why troll the players and their families? Requesting all cricket fans to stop such behavior. Sanity and dignity are more important,” said the cricketer in his latest tweet on Tuesday.

Jimmy Neesham posted the screenshot of abusive messages on his Instagram story. New Zealand player posted a hilarious comment along with the screenshot of the message taking a dig at the people for not knowing the difference between Australia and New Zealand.
Soon after the match, the DMs of Neesham were flooded with abuse and disrespectful messages. In one of his comments, he asked, “What have I missed?”
