The Opposition is gearing up for an intense political battle against the government with plans to bring a no-trust move. It approached government alliances and estranged PTI members for support, including Jahangir Tareen Group.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has been in contact with Jahangir Tareen and will likely hold an in-person meeting with him.
However, it appears that the PTI leader Jahangir Tareen will not move against the government any time soon. In fact, Jahangir Tareen does not want to part ways with PTI at all.
Senior journalist Rana Azeem revealed Jahangir Tareen’s firm stance during a talk show for a private news channel. Rana Azeem said he talked to Jahangir Tareen and also talked to very close acquaintances of his as well.

“As of now, Jahangir Tareen has refused to move against PTI,” Rana Azeem said. He said Jahangir Tareen said he is a political figure and has the full right to meet and have talks with other political leaders.
“However he will try to stand by those he has always supported till the end,” Rana Azeem added.
Moreover, the Jahangir Tareen side said those who are claiming that we will leave the government live in fool’s paradise. Rana Azeem also asked a very close minister of Jahangir Tareen whether he will join PPP, to which the minister replied that the party does not have a strong vote bank to win the elections. Jahangir Tareen’s camp is better off where it currently is.
Opposition headed towards failure?
Based on Rana Azeem’s revelations, it seems that Jahangir Tareen will also refuse to join the Opposition in their mission of ousting the government. So far, government alliances of PML-Q, and MQM-P also refused to engage in any political misadventures against the government. Although, the allies agree with the Opposition that inflation has sky-rocketed and people are suffering under the incumbent government’s regime.

However, the Opposition remains undeterred and will continue contacting political parties to bring them over to their side. Friday, PDM, which is the Opposition alliance, said that it unanimously decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the “incompetent” government.
On the other hand, the ruling PTI does not seem too worried about the Opposition’s activities. In response, PTI downplayed the announcement, saying the opposition parties lacked the required votes to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry dared the opposition parties to table the no-confidence motion against the government tomorrow, saying “no one has the courage to bring a no-confidence motion against [PM] Imran Khan”.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said the entire opposition together cannot defeat PM Imran both inside and outside parliament.
