Will Opposition resign from assemblies?

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Friday said that the opposition will never resign from assemblies and if it happens then only 18 to 20 members from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will resign from their seats. Do you agree with Fawad Chaudhry?

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Friday said that the opposition will never resign from assemblies and if it happens then only 18 to 20 members from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will resign from their seats, ARY NEWS reported.  While speaking to journalist Maria Memon in her show Sawal Ye Hai, Fawad Chaudhry said that any protest movement by opposition parties will bring economic instability in the country.

“How Pakistan will be portrayed internationally when opposition will bring seminary students on Islamabad roads,” he said.

Notably, in May 2013, Maulana Fazlur Rehman declared it ‘haram’ to vote in favor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Chief Imran Khan and his candidates. He alleged Imran Khan for being sponsored by the West and the Jewish lobby. He also called Imran an agent of “Americans, Jews, Ahmadis and a person of ill character”.

After the PTI won the general elections in 2018, and it was able to form the government, Maulana not only challenged the party but also threatened him of dire consequences if it decides to assume the office. The anger was high since the PTI white washed MMA led by JUI-F and JI in KPK which was understood as a strong threshold of the MMA. Later on, JUI-F’s ‘friends’ told Maulana to step aside.

Groupings in PML-N

Highlighting groupings in PML-N ranks, Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Maryam Nawaz and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi group wanted Shehbaz Sharif in jail to pursue their political agenda.

He further rejected the role of the PTI-led government in the treason case against PML-N leaders and said that the federal government has also clearly denied that it has nothing to do with the FIR in Lahore. “PML-N has registered terrorism cases against PTI leaders during their tenure and now they are raising hue and cry of political victimization over cases against them,” he lamented.

He further highlighted the hypocrisy of PML-N over demanding democracy in the country and neglecting it within the party. “How could they elect a president without holding the election process within the party?” Fawad Chaudhry asked.

Maryam Nawaz is ruining PML-N?

Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Punjab Information Minister, has that Maryam Nawaz, vice-President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), cannot lead the party. ‘M-league’ is completely independent in ruining the party in absence of ‘N-league’ and ‘S-league’, he said.

Maryam is facing a case of illegal transfer of 180 acres of land in Raiwind. A piece of land measuring over 3,568 Kanals was bought by the Sharif family in 2013. The largest part of the property, 1,936 Kanals, was transferred in the name of Nawaz’s mother Shamim Bibi. The land that was transferred to Maryam was 1,440 Kanals. A 96-Kanal plot each was also transferred to Nawaz and Shahbaz.

The sources claimed most of the land was government land which the Sharif family illegally got transferred in their name at cheap rates. Moreover, only the LDA had the authority to deal with such matters but the Sharif family involved local government officials. The property was declared as green land to stop construction around the Sharif family’s Jati Umra mansions.
