Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has once again clarified that he will never compromise on his basic political ideology. He spoke to his followers while leading the “Caravan-e-Bhutto” train march from Karachi to Larkana. “On April 4, it is the 40th death anniversary of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. I am travelling from Karachi to Larkana and hope all of you will also reach Garhi Khudha Baksh,” he said.
It is important to note that the “Caravan-e-Bhutto”, the special train of the Pakistan Railways, is heading towards Garhi Khudha Baksh ahead of the 40th death anniversary of late former premier and PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Khawar Ghumman, prominent Pakistani Journalist, said that “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari must not unnecessarily consume his political capital by listening to uncles and aunts of his party who were already spent forces.”
According to media reports, the train was booked at a cost of approximately Rs1.5 million and includes 14 bogies and has facilities such as air-conditioned sleepers, a luxury salon which includes a kitchen and a meeting room. Eight economy class bogies and two bogies for guards are also part of the caravan.
PPP Chairman grilled the incumbent government and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for its “NAB Gardi”. He also told the gathering that his agenda, like his grandfather, is to safeguard democracy in Pakistan. “We will give the world a message that Bhutto is still alive and present for democracy,” he added.

Moreover, PP Karachi division president Saeed Ghani has said that the PPP chairman would make a historic address on the death anniversary of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will expose the incompetence and failed policies of the federal government,” he added.
There is a widely held perception that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is on his way to pressurize the PTI government to seek some concession in the ongoing accountability process. Former President Asif Ali Zardari and his sister along with other PPP leaders are accused of money laundering and misuse of authority. The NAB is probing into cases against the PPP leadership.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically stated that his government shall never compromise of the rule of law and deal shall be signed with any politician.
Prior to the decision of the apex court about the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s bail plea, there was a widely held opinion that PML-N and PPP shall go together to give a tough time to the government. But since Nawaz has got six weeks suspension of sentence, parting of way with the PPP leadership can be expected.
Analysts believe that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is compromising his political career at the cost of protecting those allegedly involved in malpractices. Khawar Ghumman, prominent Pakistani Journalist, said that “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari must not unnecessarily consume his political capital by listening to uncles and aunts of his party who were already spent forces.”

It is yet to be seen that how other political figures e.g. Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman play their role in the anti-government campaign after yesterday’s decision? Analysts believe that the PPP is going to face some challenges in the coming days since the arrest of Asif Ali Zardari is on card. It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically stated that his government shall never compromise of the rule of law and deal shall be signed with any politician.
