A woman gave birth to a baby during the third ODI match between Pakistan and South Africa on Sunday at Wanderers Stadium.
The scoreboard lit up with the announcement of the birth of a baby boy, reading, “Congratulations Mr and Mrs Rabeng on the birth of your healthy son at Bullring,” read the scoreboard. The baby was delivered at the stadium’s medical facility with the medical staff assisting the family in welcoming their child.

The match was a dead rubber match as Pakistan had already won the three-match ODI series by 2-0. However, Pakistan also won the third ODI over South Africa by more than 30 runs. Pakistan became the first cricket team in history to whitewash South Africa in ODIs at home.
Another event that made the match memorable happened when a man proposed his love interest during the match. The man went down on one knee and presented a ring to his partner, who accepted amid loud cheers from the crowd. The Wanderers became the backdrop for two remarkable milestones—a newborn’s first moments and the beginning of a couple’s lifelong journey.
By defeating South Africa in all three matches, Pakistan created history. Rising star Saim Ayub hit his second century of the series -– and his third in five innings –- as Pakistan completed a series clean sweep over South Africa in the third one-day international at the Wanderers Stadium on Sunday.
Pakistan playing first scored 308 runs. South Africa had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Abdullah Shafique failed to score a single and got out on a duck. Meanwhile, Babar Azam scored his half-century and emerging star Saim Ayub scored a century in the match. Muhammad Rizwan and Salman Agha also scored runs, helping the team set a defendable target. Sufyan Muqim took four wickets in his debut ODI.
