Woman poisons children, husband over extramarital affair

The woman had claimed that the four had suffered from drinking an expired juice. Later the two suspects confessed their crime and were ordered to be kept in custody for further investigation.

A woman in Egypt poisons her husband and three children due to an extramarital affair. According to Egyptian media reports, the woman planned the incident with her lover to poison her family to get rid of them.

The woman mixed poison in the glasses of juice. Children aged between six to nine years died after drinking poisoned juice. Meanwhile, the father is in critical condition admitted to the hospital. Police investigation revealed that the woman had an extramarital affair and they had planned the killing of the family of the woman together.

The lover, aged 26, had injected a poisoned substance into the juice before being presented to the family of the woman who is also 26. The woman had claimed that the four had suffered from drinking an expired juice. Later the two suspects confessed their crime and were ordered to be kept in custody for further investigation.

On being interrogated, the woman gave conflicting statements. At first, she said the four drank expired juice, then she said that they ate a carcinogenic watermelon and finally an insecticide fell into their breakfast. The conflicting statement raised suspicion among the investigating team. The investigation further revealed that there were frequent disagreements between husband and wife. She had even left the house several times following fights.

She was in a romantic relationship with a 26-year-old driver who gave her 4 bottles of juice injected with poison. She then deceived the husband’s family by saying in the statement that they consumed expired juice.

Meanwhile, Egypt has been recording a rapid rise in cases of domestic violence. Earlier, a man stabbed his wife 11 times on the second day of Eid-ul-Adha. A heated argument broke between the couple after which the man grabbed the kitchen knife and stabbed the woman in front of their children. He immediately fled the scene leaving the woman lying in the pool of blood.
