Yes, tea cup & MiG 21’s wreckage is with us: DG ISPR roasts Indian

News Desk |

Major General Asif Ghafoor, DG ISPR retorted to an Indian military officer’s tweet jeering Pakistan’s armed forces and cricket team on disqualification from the ICC World Cup 2019. Pakistan, despite putting up spectacular performances in the last four consecutive matches, failed to make it to the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup.

Pakistan, vying for the fourth spot in the ICC World Cup semi-finals, lost to New Zealand on a mere run-rate basis. Pakistan, however, ended its journey on a high-note registering a 94-runs win over Bangladesh.

DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor gave a befitting reply to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah for deriding Pakistan after losing to India in a group match.

DG ISPR roasted Indian Major Surendra Poonia, a Gold Medal athlete, a doctor, and also a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Twitter. Former Major Poonia mocked Pakistan’s cricket team for acquiring the fifth spot in the ICC World Cup.

Poonia shared a picture of Wing Commander Abhinandan and wrote, “Our hero Wing Commander Abhinandan left your cup in Major General Asif Gafoor’s office! Kindly collect it and celebrate.”

Major Ghafoor snubbed BJP politician for equating sports with politics, adding that Pakistanis are big at heart, which Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman can also testify.

“But you can’t understand this as it requires moral values, a lacking displayed versus England. Yes, tea cup is with us, also Mig21 wreckage and much more,” the DG ISPR added.

Cynthia D Ritchie, American journalist, also grilled Major Poonia for his abrasive tweet.

“Not that I am a subject matter expert, but I think cricket is a sport. Not war games. BTW, in case you forgot, your WC also left behind his uniform & aircraft. As former special forces show some class the way Pakistan’s forces did by treating the WC well & returning him home,” commented Cynthia.
