Zainab’s father lambasts AJK PM for his immature statements

News Desk |

Haji Ameen, father of little Zainab condemned the immature statement of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider about the sexual assault and murder of his daughter. The incident highlights a trail of irresponsible statements made by the PML (N) leader often in defense of his party.

Zainab’s father held the statement as baseless adding he lives in a combined family along with his brothers. AJK PM ridiculed Zainab’s murder by attributing the blame to her parents for going abroad leaving the child in someone else’s care.

“The people of Kashmir are struggling for annexation with Pakistan for over 70 years and we had associated our future with Pakistan ever since Quaid e Azam visited Sri Nagar back in 1944,” it read.

The AJK premier raised questions for the parents of the minor girl who was killed after rape in Kasur. To add insult to injury, his statement was capped with unwarranted bursts of laughter.

“The statement is extremely deplorable. I condemn it. People do not fear God that is why they make such utterances,” said the grief-stricken father. Furthermore, Haji Ameen asked if people like Raja Farooq did not have daughters or children of their own. Or was it that they were devoid of humanity.

He quoted a verse form the Quran which states “the curse of Allah on the liars” and said that such a verse fit on the likes of Raja Farooq Haider.

Earlier, Raja Farooq Haider had courted controversy in July 2017 when he said he would not accede to Pakistan or not in the wake of Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification. The premier took strong exception to the unanimous decision by the apex court in the Panama papers case and said: “As a Kashmiri, I need to think to which country I should make annexation to, if this was the country envisioned by Allama Iqbal.”

However, the premier later backtracked and said that his statement regarding annexation was quoted out of context. According to a press release issued by the AJK PM House, Raja Farooq Haider denied and condemned the portrayal of his statement about annexation.

“Kashmiris can’t even think about any other option except annexation with Pakistan,” the statement said. “The people of Kashmir are struggling for annexation with Pakistan for over 70 years and we had associated our future with Pakistan ever since Quaid e Azam visited Sri Nagar back in 1944,” it read.
