Former President Asif Ali Zardari has said that someone should ask from Prime Minister Imran khan what facilities would he withdraw from some [high-profile] prisoners – Zardari and the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif – who are currently in jail.
The ex-president commented that PM Khan should know that he was already accustomed to residing in barracks.
While talking to journalists after he reached the accountability court on Monday, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Zardari said PM Khan has said that he would take back all the facilities in jail on his return to country. “Someone should ask PM what facilities he had given to us which he will now take back,” he said.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that no matter what happens, the opposition will have to return the money they stole from the country.
Replying to another query about removing chairman senate, Zardari said, “I didn’t make chairman Senate before and also I am not removing him now.”
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, a little-known opposition candidate was elected as Senate chairman in March 2018. He had got 57 votes out of a total 103, while PML-N’s candidate Raja Zafarul Haq had bagged 46 votes. Interestingly, PPP, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and others had backed Sanjrani but PPP’s Zardari was mostly credited with engineering Sanjrani’s victory.
PM Khan Says No More AC, TV for Sharif, Zardari in Jail
While addressing a rally at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on Sunday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that no matter what happens, the opposition will have to return the money they stole from the country.
The premier as quoted by SAMAA said that Nawaz Sharif asks for food, an air conditioner and TV facilities in jail, adding that about 80% of Pakistan doesn’t have an AC and 70% doesn’t have a TV. PM Khan quipped that half the public would gladly go to jail if they got these facilities.

If you get everything in jail then where’s the punishment, he asked. “When I go back to Pakistan, I am ending these facilities,” he promised. Maryam Bibi will make a lot of noise but there’s a simple way to get out of jail, he said: “give back the money.”
He said the former president Asif Ali Zardari goes to jail and then straight to the hospital. “Now we’ll keep Zardari in jail but without the air conditioner or TV,” the TV channel’s website quoted him as saying. It’s very easy to get out of jail, he reiterated, give the money back.
