Zayn Malik says his upcoming album consists of Urdu songs and some Qawwalis too.
He revealed that he has collaborated with AR Rehman for a song in his album. He has recently sung his first song for another Bollywood movie.
“There’s definitely a lot of Urdu; some nice qawwali sounds. There might even be some bhangra vibes. I have worked with AR Rahman on one song.”

“It’s one of the first songs I’ve sung in full Hindi, so it’s going to be cool to see what the response is.” I feel like I’m in the control seat, I’m doing my own thing and I’m enjoying it.”
“I’m always inspired by old music that I’ve loved since I was a kid – R Kelly, Usher, Chris Brown,” the singer added further.
Zayn Malik’s singing career is ascending successfully since his departure from ‘One Direction’. His current albums are ruling the charts in USA and UK.
The Pakistani-British singer says, he has been a huge fan of Bollywood since his childhood, and of Shah Rukh Khan in particular. The singer labeled Shah Rukh Khan’s version of ‘Devdas’ his favorite Bollywood flick.
“Before I can even remember, Bollywood films would be on TV,” he shared. “Bollywood is so impeccable. If you ever get a chance to watch a good Bollywood movie, watch Devdas! Have you seen it? It’s got Shah Rukh Khan in it.”
When asked about his interaction with Shah Rukh Khan back in 2015 in London, the singer said, his first interaction with SRK changed his opinion of him completely.

“I personally wasn’t a huge fan until I met him. I realized how humble he is. Really showed a different side to him. He always came across as slightly arrogant in the movies to me but when I met him in real life, he was so nice. He just completely changed my opinion of him,”
His followers will indeed welcome the complete change the singer has taken in his upcoming album. It would be interesting to see how well Malik connects with his Asian roots in his upcoming project.
